• high speed encoding technology to convert physical audio, video tape recordings into digital file formats (.avi, .mov, .mpeg, .flv) • OCR processing (required when videos also contains subtitles) • metadata extraction to ensure easy access and searchability of contents (XML tags are added with appropriate keywords related to people, places, dates and cultural groups) • XML files generated for uploading of content on FTP sites
