Threats to Information, Security and Availability

Piql protects your most valuable data

A massive digital transformation is happening

The amount of data is exploding Piql provides a unique, solution for secure and non-hackable data storage , where data is stored on a physical, immutable storage medium that is kept offline and off-grid in a secure, military grade vault on a secret location. The ultimate protection of business-critical and society-critical data and information, with guaranteed availability - whatsoever.

Digitisation, digital transformation, IoT, AI/ML, blockchain, automation and robotics is changing the world. A lot of insights and value is generated, but on the flip side, there are huge challenges to manage and understand and protect all this data! Due to the transition to everything being digital and accessible, information and data is at risk, and there are huge challenges to protect and keep data in its authentic form.

INSTITUTIONS AND ORGANISATIONS IN BOTH THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR ARE CAPTURING, STORING, PROTECTING, AND ANALYZING MORE DATA THAN EVER BEFORE. IDC’s Global DataSphere, which forecasts the amount of data that will be created on an annual basis, predicts that over the next five years, data will grow at

a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21.2% to reach more than 221 zetta bytes (221.000 exabytes or 221 million petabytes – by any measure, massive amounts of data) by 2026. That data will include both unstructured and structured data, but unstructured data overwhel mingly dominates, accounting for more than 90% of the data created each year.

Speed of technology obsolescence is increasing

Due to continued innovations, the speed of technology obsolescence, especially in the information and communication technology industry (ICT) is accelerating. New storage technologies and solutions, new software and file formats as well as new interfaces are created“every day”. You hardly get a PC with a CD drive anymore and USB-A was replaced by USB-C “overnight”.

In this innovation environment, it is very hard to keep up with these changes. Consequently, to reduce efforts and costs (at least that is a motivation), businesses all across both the public and private sector are shifting their digital operations and data storage to the cloud. But are they consciously and sufficiently aware of the risks of being “up there somewhere”?
