WHO WE ARE

WHAT WE DO

We are a specialist provider of digital preservation and long-term data storage. With headquarter in Norway and a global footprint, with a presence in more than 26

nations, we offer tailored services to a range of sectors includ- ing historical and memory, audio visual, private enterprise and government.

Our purpose-built technology can keep data alive for hundreds of years, without the need for migration. To achieve this we have repurposed photosensitive film to be a digital storage medium. Data is stored using high density QR codes with all information needed to recover the information also stored on the film, making it self-contained and future accessible. The data is secure, unalterable and can be recovered with- out the risk of data loss, no matter how long it is stored for. It is the only service of its kind and the only offline, migration-free technology available for long term digital preservation. We offer a broad range of services that can support you all the way from planning and structuring your archive, through digital transformation of analogue content, to online storage and access, and offline digital storage with unique longevity and security properties. Our purpose-built online tool, piqlConnect, is simple and easy to use, facilitating data treatments, includes Archivematica – the world’s leading open source digital preservation platform, and offers online access.  This secure platform makes uploading data simple and efficient, allowing customisable online data preparation, flexible management, searchability and online access. We also offer storage in the Arctic World Archive, an offline vault deep in an Arctic mountain on the remote island of Svalbard holding precious world memory. The archive ensures the protection of the most sensitive and irreplace- able data for future generations and holds treasures from around the world including, The Scream by Edvard Munch, ancient manuscripts from the Vatican Library, archives from various nations and the most significant open source code repositories.

We have repurposed photosensitive film to become a truly secure and long-term storage medium, the piqlFilm.
